On Truth, Affairs and Dreams--Academic reflection on the dispute of one-sentence Tang poetry

Zhu Guangqian, Lu Hsun and Zhu Ziqing's analysis of the one-sentence poetry by Qian Qi has showed their different academic personalities. Zhu Guangqian explains the aesthetic meaning with his knowledge of western aesthetic psychology and his academic thinking bears on the spirit of Song style advocated by the school of Tongcheng in late Qing Dynasty. Lu Hsun's criticism of him and Zhu Ziqing's analysis show the style of the Sinology's textual criticism in Qian and Jia Period. The Song style has absorbed western learning so the dispute between Han and Song dynasties is also the collision between east and west academy. The dispute among the three is essentially the continuing of that of Han and Song.
