In January 2018, when Lyu Xiaoning crossed the threshold of La Casa Azul, Frida Kahlo's family home in Coyoacán, Mexico, she was touched by a particular painting named Viva la Vida. For her last work, completed in 1954 fol-lowing complications from an amputated leg, Kahlo chose to paint vivacious red watermelons for their significance to the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1 and 2. This holiday sees fam-ily and friends gather in remembrance of those who have gone before them. The artist inscribed the words "Viva la Vida"on the central melon wedge at the bottom of the canvas, which trans-late as "Long live life," just eight days before she died.

George Herbert’s poem,"Virtue",conveys to us a theme that all material things in this world,however shiny they are on the outside,are flashy on the inside;only the spiritual sublime virtues that human beings possess remain fresh forever.Linguistically speaking,the discourse cohesion of this poem contributes to the expression of the theme of it.Based on the stylistic analysis,this paper argues that the expression of the poetic theme is realized through the overall layout of cohesion of this poem,manifested in rhyme scheme,lexicon,structure and logic.

Time bank offers a novel elderly care option in an aging society A decade ago, Xu Min began to volunteer at a community institution that provides services for people over 60. In the 10 years, she has cared for 20 seniors, giving them company and comfort. "We grow into each other's family," she told Jiefang Daily.Now, the organization, based in Shanghai, has been included in a time bank program. As a result, Xu, nearly 60 herself, can exchange her service hours for others' services when she needs them.
