How Measurement Error in Content Analysis and Self-Reported Media Use Leads to Minimal Media Effect Findings in Linkage Analyses: A Simulation Study

In the debate on minimal media effects and their causes, methodological concerns about measurement are rarely discussed. We argue that even in state-of-the-art media-effects studies that combine measures of media messages and media use (i.e., linkage analyses), measurement error in both the media content analysis and the media use self-reports will typically lead to severely downward-biased effect estimates. We demonstrate this phenomenon using a large Monte Carlo simulation with varying parameters of the content analysis and the survey study. Results show that measurement error in the content analysis and media use variables does indeed lead to smaller effect estimates, especially when the media messages of interest are relatively rare. We discuss these findings as well as possible remedies and implications for future research.

工会区域联动体系建设的新尝试

针对所在项目与其他三家兄弟单位相邻和本项目为陆地、海上两个区域的特点,中交一航局一公司港珠澳大桥桥梁项目部工会,精心实施了区域联动的新尝试,并已取得较明显的成效。     

用VBA语言开发群体遗传学统计分析软件

目的开发适用于短串联重复序列(STR)基因座群体遗传学统计分析的软件,促进和加快STR基因座群体遗传学基础研究。方法选用简单易用的MicrosoftVBAforExcel语言,利用宏功能,开发STR基因座群体遗传学统计分析软件。结果开发建立了基于VBA语言的“群体遗传学分析易”软件,能进行STR基因座群体遗传学分析。结论开发的基于VBA语言的“群体遗传学分析易”软件,具有计算统计功能完善、输入格式兼容性好、使用方便、输出格式清晰易懂的特点,可在国内外STR基因座群体遗传学研究领域推广应用。     

构建城市艾滋病预防和控制的联动机制——以公安机关为视角

随着艾滋病疫情在全国范围内的扩散,对艾滋病的预防和控制工作成为社会关注的焦点问题,公安工作和艾滋病预防控制工作有着天然的联系,法律和职能的要求使得公安机关必须要积极参与到艾滋病的预防和控制工作中去。但是仅仅依靠公安机关或卫生部门的力量是有限的,必须整合社会力量,发挥合力形成联动机制,以保证实现艾滋病管理的实效。从艾滋病预防和控制工作的现状看,公安机关在艾滋病管理中存在一些问题,需探索一条有效的管理途径,构建一套公安机关预防和控制艾滋病的管理机制。     

推进长吉图开发开放先导区建设的政策建议——基于地区间产业关联研究的结论

推进长吉图开发开放先导区的建设对于培育吉林省新的增长极、提高东北地区开发开放水平意义重大。利用地区间/多区域投入产出模型,对东北地区和东北亚区域产业关联进行实证分析,发现东北地区在国际产业关联、区际产业关联、省际产业关联等三个方面的程度和效能都比较低,导致产业发展和产业结构调整严重受限。今后,吉林省需要积极培育和发展主导产业(群)、通过合理配套相关产业政策、加强基础设施建设,重点发挥长吉图开发开放先导区在东北地区"飞铃"型产业关联的中枢作用,带动东北地区全面发展。     

67个X-SNP位点的分型检测和连锁不平衡检验

目的 筛选一组在中国汉族人群中具有法医学应用前景的X-SNP位点.方法 根据dbSNP和HapMap两个数据库提供的位点信息和频率数据从X染色体上筛选出67个候选X-SNP位点,采用多重PCR联合基质辅助激光解析电离飞行时间质谱技术检测中国汉族人群428名无关个体,获得67个候选X-SNP位点在中国汉族人群中的频率数据...

目的：为我国药品专利链接制度的发展与完善提供启示与借鉴。方法：运用案例分析、法条分析、经济分析及国内外法律制度比较分析等论证方法,剖析我国专利链接制度。结果与结论：根据我国医药产业发展水平和国民对药品可及性的实际需求,分阶段推行我国药品专利链接制度。     

Deciding to Intervene: An Analysis of International and Domestic Influences on United States Interventions in Intrastate Disputes

Although the United States has been the most prolific intervener in the international system since the end of World War II, there has been little consensus among scholars regarding the motivations of U.S. interventions in domestic political disputes abroad. In addition, scholars do not agree on the relative effects of international factors and domestic factors on intervention decisions by the U.S. Previous research on the motivations of U.S. interventions has occurred within at least two distinctive “streams” of literature: (1) studies of state interventions; and (2) studies of the use of military force by the U.S. Hypotheses regarding U.S. interventions in intrastate disputes are derived from the previous literature, and the hypotheses are tested using recently-compiled data on intrastate disputes and U.S. interventions in intrastate disputes occurring between 1945 and 2002. The results suggest a combination of international factors, including geographic proximity and ideological linkage, significantly influence the decisions of the U.S. to intervene in intrastate disputes. The results also suggest international factors are generally more important than domestic factors, and the effects of both domestic factors and international factors on U.S. intervention decisions may differ depending on the specific type of intervention and the time period.
