Russian President Putin's Policy of the Korean Peninsula and His Standpoint of Korean Nuclear

After Putin took the president in 2000, Russian foreign policy began toward pragmatic oriented aimed at national interests. On the policy of the Korean Peninsula, Putin has changed the former guideline of "regarding the south, despising the north" , and has positively developed the relationship with South Korea and carried out the balanced policy of equidistance between the south and the north. Putin enhanced Russian influential force on the Korean Peninsula by strengthening the relationship with the South and the North. Russia sticks to the principle of non-nuclearization in the Korean Peninsula, advocates a peaceful settlement of Korean nuclear crisis and opposes use of force and various sanction measures. Russia advises that we should let North Korea abandon nuclear plan by way of providing secure guarantee for North Korea. There is no doubt that Russian principle and standpoint play a constructive role in the settlement of Korean nuclear crisis.
