Introduction to the Special Court for Sierra Leone

The Special Court for Sierra Leone(SC-SL for short) is one of internationalized courts under the aegis of the UN, which emerged after we enter the 21st century. The author makes a general introduction to the SC-SL and tries to cover its foundation and development, its legal documents, its composition and jurisdiction. After the introduction, the author briefly draws the characteristics of the SC-SL by comparing it with other internationalized courts and the international criminal tribunals and praises the merits of the SC-SL which come from the experiences and lessons of the other courts.
