George Kennan was a Soviet hand and the initiator of the US containment policy.In 1946 he sent a long telegram to the USA,and in 1947 he published an X article.His analysis of the Soviet mode of thinking and origin of action was so shocking to the US political arena and the millions that after an interval of half a century,we are still subdued by his astounding insight and predictions when re-analyzing his two articles.He had a deep understanding of the Russian national temperament and Soviet diplomatic behavior model while his understanding was precisely based on his deep understanding of Russian(Soviet) historical culture.
