Speech on the Symposium of Commemorating the 40~(th) Anniversary of Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship

on February 6 th, 2018, the Symposium of Commemorating the 40 th Anniversary of Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship organized by Chinese Association for International Understanding was staged at Wanshou Hotel, Beijing. Liu Hongcai, Vice President of Chinese Association for International Understanding and former Vice Minister of International Department of Central Committee of CPC attended and addressed the meeting. More than 30 representatives, respectively form Chinese social organizations and institutions such as All-China Youth Federation, All-China Women's Federation, Chinese Association for Japanese Studies, People's China, visiting representatives of Broad National Coalition of Liberty, Peace and Democracy, as well as from the Beijing branch of Japanese non-governmental organizations and institutions such as Council of Local Authorities for International Relations, Beijing. Representatives from both China and Japan made heated discussion and actively contributed to themes such as giving full play to the role of nongovernmental organizations, enhancing bilateral communication and improving bilateral relations. Editors’ introduction: critical terrorism studies: practice,limits and experience

The articles in this special issue are drawn from papers presented at a conference titled Critical Terrorism Studies: Practice, Limits and Experience. The conference was organised by the Critical Studies on Terrorism Working Group of the British International Studies Association (BISA). The event was supported by both a BISA workshop grant and by Loughborough University’s Centre for the Study of International Governance (CSIG) and was held at Loughborough University from 9–10 September 2013. The conference aimed to explore what we know about terrorism and counterterrorism and importantly to ask how we know it. Reflecting the recent “materialist”, “everyday”, “experiential” and “narrative” turns in the fields of International Relations (IR), Geography and Cultural Theory, the event brought together scholars and practitioners to reflect on practices of research and knowledge production in Critical Terrorism Studies and related fields. The articles in this special issue reflect those aims.

Implications of a ＂Warm Spring＂ in China-Japan Relations

President Hu Jintao＇s visit to Japan is very fruitful. During the visit, leaders of the two countries built new framework for the bilateral relations and depicted the blueprint for future development. The readjustment of relations are pushed forward both by the dramatic changes in the world as well as the new developments within the two countries. However, the China-Japan relation is too complex to be improved with only one visit. There are still many things waiting to be done in future.

China-Japan-ROK Relations in Post-Beijing Olympics-Summary of the Sino-Japan-ROK Trilateral Symposium

The trilateral seminar of ＂China-Japan-ROK Relations in Post- Beijing Olympics＂ - organized by China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations （CICIR）, the Asahi Shimbun Asia Network （AAN） of Japan and the Hwajeong Peace Foundation of Northeast Asia Daily （the Dibg-A Ilbo） in South Korea--opened in Beijing on October l lth, 2008. Over 30 representatives from China, Japan and Korea attended the seminar and shared their views on a variety of issues, including China beyond the Games, security cooperation in Northeast Asia and Sino- Japanese-ROK cooperation in a new era.
