朝阳区是北京市城区面积最大、人口最多的区，是北京市的经济大区，也是北京市对外交往的窗口区。进入新世纪，首都北京的改革开放和现代化建设进入了新的发展阶段，为朝阳区的经济和社会发展提供了巨大的发展机遇。朝阳区又是2008年奥运会主场馆所在地，     

给朝阳机遇 献残奥精彩

2004年第12届残奥会开幕式上，雅典残奥会主席吉安娜致词时说：“雅典残奥会留给雅典人民的一份重要的历史遗产是：雅典成为了一个无障碍城市。”北京市朝阳区作为2008年奥运会、残奥会主赛场、“中国涉外第一区”、老龄化地区，营造一个方便、安全、舒适的无障碍社会环境极为重要。     

爱心艺术家与残疾手工艺者签约结对子 朝阳残疾人喜获“艺术手杖”

北京奥运会金镶玉奖牌设计参与者、工艺美术大师杨根连，在今年全国助残日，成为朝阳区残疾人手工艺者的艺术指导老师。5月16日，完成“艺术手杖”结对签约仪式的还有多位画家、工美艺术家以及清华工艺美院的学生。今后，他们将定期为朝阳区从事工艺制作的残疾人，提供全方位的艺术指导。     

坚持以人为本 突出区域特色 北京市朝阳区全力以赴创建全国文明城区

北京市朝阳区是北京市国际化程度最高的区域，继出色完成奥运会和60周年国庆庆典活动之后，为落实北京建设世界城市的目标，朝阳区将于2011年创建全国文明城区。近日，朝阳区召开创建全国文明城区动员大会，动员全区党员干部及市民群众，全力以赴做好创建全国文明城区的工作。     

“一班一国”体验奥林匹克精神

25块具有世界民族特色的图文并茂的展板、25个国家内容丰富的演示文稿，25份风格各异的各国代表物，童声稚气的外国语……，这是北京市朝阳区花家地实验小学开展的“一班一国”模式奥林匹克教育实践活动成果。花家地实验小学以北京奥运会为契机，在制定“一班一国”教育规划的基础上，在学生中成立“小小奥组委”，并建立学习、培训、评优机制，积极开展对外交流。     

实现首都交通跨越式发展

“无与伦比”的北京奥运会圆满落幕。今夏，北京的天空格外的蓝，北京的环境格外的美，北京的交通格外的顷畅。国际奥委会奥运会执行主任吉尔伯特-费利连用五个“满意”评价此次奥运会，“历届奥运会的交通都是困扰组织者的最大难题。但北京的交通工作非常出色。”经过北京市交通系统广大干部职工七年多来的艰辛努力，     

夯实基础拓宽渠道 多策并举初见成效

朝阳区是北京市最大的城市近郊区,面积476平方公里,常住、流动人口220余万人。区域特点:一是对外交往的窗口区。日坛、三里屯和正在建设中的第三使馆区都坐落在朝阳区,外国驻京机构、涉外饭店、常住外国人多。二是经济发达的商务中心区。电子、纺织、化工、机械、汽车等工业门类齐全,北京市中央商务区(CBD)建在朝阳区。三是城市建设的开发区。已建成和正在规划建设的较为完善的居住区达70多个。到2010年,朝阳全境将划入北京城市总体规划市区范围内,正在申办的2008年奥运会奥运村、国际会展中心等也将建在朝阳区。四是投资环境最好的开放区…     

苏州好孩子百瑞康公司向残疾人赠轮椅

“志愿服务是一种快乐”，这是获得北京奥组委授予的“北京奥运会、残奥会志愿者先进个人”荣誉称号的5名安利北京志愿者的志愿感言。从2008年7月1日至10月8日，554名安利北京志愿者参与了北京市8个区县15个城市志愿者站点服务，累计服务时间13136小时。     

“世纪之爱”在朝阳

由首都图书馆和北京市朝阳区残联主办,朝阳区残疾人综合活动中心、朝阳区残疾人书画家联谊会和朝阳区盲人协会承办的“世纪之爱”残疾人书画作品展于1月26日上午在首都图书馆开幕。 参加展览的作者有肢体障碍者、听力障碍者、视力障碍者、智力障碍者和精神障碍者近百人,近百幅书画作品,代表了北京市残疾人书画艺术的高水平。这次参展的作者有国际口足画家协会会
